What time of year is best for thermal imaging?

Thermal inspections are most effective when there's a significant temperature difference between indoors and outdoors — at least 10°C. In Edmonton, this means fall through spring (October–April) is ideal. Winter inspections often produce the most dramatic and actionable results.

Do you need access inside the building?

Exterior drone inspections don't require interior access. However, for a complete assessment, we recommend a combined exterior + interior scan using handheld FLIR cameras to catch issues like air leakage paths and HVAC distribution problems that aren't visible from outside.

How is this different from a basic energy audit?

A standard energy audit reviews utility bills and equipment specs. We capture the actual thermal performance of your building envelope with calibrated imaging, revealing specific defect locations that an audit based on paperwork alone will miss.
